Real World Tetris Prank Surprises Unsuspecting People
YouTube Prankster takes The Tetris Effect to a whole other level.
Play Tetris long enough, and you’ll begin to see Tetriminos both real and imaginary in everyday life. If you’re lucky, you might even run into some Tetriminos at the mall, inside of an elevator or even blocking traffic. How crazy would that be?
No, Tetriminos are not literally falling from the sky. Instead, the video you’re about to watch is an elaborate prank by YouTube jokester Rémi Gaillard from France. He and his buddies dressed up as the well-known puzzle pieces and attempted to play Tetris in the real world, at the expense of innocent bystanders going about their daily lives.
Aside from briefly inconveniencing these people, the group of Tetriminos attempt to make the puzzle pieces fit with everyday objects. Watch as Gaillard, dressed as the S-Tetrimino, runs into a taxi cab in what we hope was a staged event; safety first!
Later, he transforms himself into the T-Tetrimino and surprises an elderly gentleman with a shopping cart. Later, you’ll even see a Tetrimino hanging from a building!
The most amusing clips, at least in our opinion, take place on a busy road and in front of an escalator. All of the Tetriminos join together at the expense of motorists and some shoppers, respectively. At least two people get so frustrated that they walk back up the wrong escalator, while another pushes the Tetriminos aside. Clearly, he was not amused by Gaillard’s shenanigans.
Of course, you don’t need a handful of tricksters with Tetris outfits to see Tetriminos everywhere you go. From I-Tetriminos holding up beams inside of a house to the O-Tetriminos in brick walls, the much talked about Tetris Effect is on full display as we interact with and view the world. For now, relax and have a laugh at Gaillard’s creative prank.
